How to Screen for Undervalued Dividend Stocks Infographic
I created an infographic for screening stocks because this needs to be a more visual, exciting topic. People get bored with investing, so an infographic can really show the information in a better manner. I’ve been using Robinhood to build a dividend portfolio with the goal of living off dividends forever.
Let’s not get mixed up.. Good investing is boring, but in order to get started, you have to find ways to make it fun.

Why use a stock screener to find undervalued stocks
Using a stock screener can open up a number of doors for finding unique, undervalued stocks that will boost your investment returns over the long-term. A stock screener has the following benefits:
- Automates your investment process.
- Frees up your time to focus on other things like the qualitative considerations of investing.
- Can help you find generally undervalued industries or new industries previously not considered.
A stock screener is a no brainer. I hope that my infographic can help you find the best stocks to invest in. Check out our dividend portfolio infographic to help you build an optimal dividend portfolio. You can’t find dividend stocks if you don’t have the resources…
Resources to use to screen for undervalued dividend stocks
There are plenty of resources available that enable you to screen for stocks completely free. Here are a few of my favorite resources to use when screening for dividend stocks (in no particular order):
1. FINVIZ
FINVIZ is a must have for any investor even if you don’t need to use it for screening. You can use it for FINVIZ futures as well. Read how I use FINVIZ futures to understand market trends. If you want to use it to screen for stocks, here is how to use FINVIZ to screen for stocks.
2. Google Finance
Google Finance has been a great resource for me. I admit – I am not a huge fan of the recent updates taking away a lot of the dynamic charts. However, once you type in stocks you basically get all the information you need.
3. GuruFocus
GuruFocus is personally a staple for me with my investment decision making. With their platform they compare stocks to certain valuation methodologies used by ‘gurus.’ GuruFocus also has some amazing data on recent insider purchases. Follow the experts by using GuruFocus to screen for stocks.
4. Motley Fool Stock Advisor
Motley Fool Stock Advisor is a newsletter that will send you top investment ideas directly to your mailbox. This can be a great way to get research sent directly to you to start generating new investment ideas or pursue their investment recommendations.
You can read my Motley Fool Stock Advisor review to see if it is a fit for you.
Did you know that there are brokerages that will simply give you free stock just for signing up? That’s a great no-risk way to start investing.
Conclusion on Dividend Investing Infographic
Once you have the resources in place, you need to digest the information a bit further. I’ve built a couple of other downloadable models that can help you make your investment decisions. There are many investment myths out there that you need to consider before investing. Here are some of the most important investment myths to avoid.
Here are a couple of my favorites:
- Dividend discount model: This will help you calculate an expected valuation of the stock based on forecast dividends.
- Dividend calculator: Our dividend calculator helps you calculate what it takes to live off dividends forever. You can input your savings plan and contributions to your dividend portfolio to see what it takes. You can then sensitize this information based on anticipated dividend yields and growth rates.
